Beautiful pair of books from the early 1900s with fabulous detail on the green cloth hardcovers, and gilt writing on the spines.

Timon of Athens
by Shakespeare
published by William Heinemann, London, in 1904

In great vintage condition - the cover is clean and has worn well with age. Slight browning to pages and a small split just inside the cover where the binding is showing, but no tears, creases or missing pages, and the book is holding together well.

Pippa Passes
by Robert Browning
published by William Heinemann, London, in 1906

In rather poor condition - the cover has come entirely loose (though the inner pages are still holding together well and there are no missing pages - could be reattached to the cover easily). The previous owner (my Grandmother!) wrote her name in pen on the title page, and she studied this book in school; there are numerous notes in pencil in the margins.

These books measure approx. 6" x 4"

Thanks for looking!
