This is a combination of the book “Roald Dahl: A Biography” plus a print of my painting of a chocolate bar on a library card catalog card for the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” This book from the 1990s is in great condition. It's mustard yellow and white with red printing for the title and author's name.

If you've ever wondered about the life of famous children's book author Roald Dahl, this is the book for you. A WWII veteran with many personal tragedies in his life, he was not above pulling pranks, like sending out a letter to make it look like his boss was proposing to write a sex education textbook. This biography includes photos and illustrations, including a reprint of Dahl's first published story, “Shot Down Over Libya.”

On the inside front cover, this book has a sweet message written by a child that reads:
Dear Grandma, Merry Christmas. I hope you like this book. I have read many of his novels and thought you might like this. Have fun reading. Love, Patch

This book is written for adults and not children, and Grandma must have had either raised eyebrows or a good chuckle when she read the part about the sex education prank.

As for my print of the “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” candy bar, it's done on ivory colored card stock paper to replicate the look and feel of real card catalog cards, which librarians typed up on index cards. The print measures 3 x 5 inches.
