Victorian / Civil War Era Hand Blown Glass Apothecary Jar with Wax Labels Under Glass. This bottle stands approximately 9 3/4" tall including the stopper. The pontil mark on the bottom of the bottle is what I've used to date this bottle to the 1850s. A pontil mark is a coin size indentation where the pontil rod was snapped off (the pontil rod held the bottle while it was being formed and finished). The glass label is in immaculate condition and reads "P. COLOCYN." The bottle and stopper are also in like new condition with no chips or cracks. If you want more pictures, please do not hesitate to ask. I have a number of other apothecary bottles listed and they look beautiful in sets.
