Ah, William Steig, that wise man of wonderful words and amazing artwork. Gotta love his stuff. Gold, every bit of it.

Amos is a mouse who builds a boat. Boris is a whale on his way to a conference. When these two total strangers meet, it is Boris who saves a shipwrecked Amos from drowning. The two ultimately part ways as solid friends, but Boris doubts that Amos will ever be able to make good on his promise to help if Boris needs him. Much to the behemoth's surprise, he finds himself stranded by an errant wave and it is indeed the quick thinking of his miniscule buddy that saves his hide. Beautiful, poetic story that truly proves that you are never too small to help a friend.

This ex-library 1989 is in lovely vintage condition. The pages are crisp and nice. There is a faint, small pink spot midway down the outside edge of the pages, it is barely visible on the pages themselve and does not affect art or text in any way. The Dj is protected by clear plastic. Very nice.

William Steig vintage kids book Amos and Boris, delightful story of whale and mouse friendship, moral tale that no one is too small to help
