This postcard would be perfect to add to your collection, as decoration, to send to someone, scrapbooking and other art projects.

The card is in OK condition with wear, especially visible around the corners. There is some staining on the back of the card. There is also some light creasing.

Printed on the back of the card:
'A street in Copenhagen, Denmark - Certain localities, like certain people, please us at first sight; we cannot tell why. They give us pleasure. This Danish Capital is such a place. It is not handsome architecturally. Most of its streets are narrow and old fashioned, but the city has two very noticeable characteristics - cleanliness and cheerfulness.'

Copenhagen has been the capital of Denmark since the 15th century. The famous, melancholy, statue of Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Little Mermaid' is in Copenhagen. The sculpture was commissioned by Carl Jacobsen who picked then prima ballerina, Ellen Price, to be the model. The sculptor Edvard Eriksen was chosen and the statue was completed in 1913. It's been a dream if mine to see this statue in the flesh since seeing the statue in the beginning of the anime movie made of the 'Little Mermaid' called 'Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid' (1975).

I started collecting vintage postcards and stamps a couple of years ago. I hope you love them as much as I do! My cards and stamps can be used for collecting, sending, scrapbooking, making jewelry, book covers, paintings and many other different types of art projects.

Each order comes with a bonus random card or stamp from my collection.
