Large antique locket with a beautiful engraved ampersand on the front. The ampersand has leaves and berries with flush set green and red stones growing from it. There are also clear flush set rhinestones along the rest of the engraving. One rhinestone is missing near the top left. This is an easy repair and generally inexpensive to have done by your jeweler.

Inside is a photo of a young woman beneath the retainer ring. There is the date of Dec. 25 1922 typed on the back of the photo. Locket looks to be gold filled but is unmarked as such. Locket closes securely and hangs from an 18" gold filled chain. Measures 1.5" tall by 1" across.

I would love to know the story behind the engraving and the meaning it held for this person. I really hope that whomever buys this will keep the photo with the locket.
