Spode's English bone china dinner plate in the pattern, Blue Colonel, is inspired by a pattern found on the Silk Route and lusciously decorated with an ornate, cobalt blue and white pattern and trimmed in gold.

The name, "Blue Colonel", is from Colonel Alfred Copeland who was an amateur archeologist who excavated a fragment of this pattern on the Silk Route in Persia in 1870.

This discontinued pattern can be used to add to an existing Spode collection or used separately as it would make a nice dessert or serving platter.
