A sweet wedding band. A simple kind of love. Sophie.
Sophie is modern earthiness. She is about 1.65 - 1.85mm wide and about 1.3mm - 1.4mm thick. I made her out of a clay like wax to give her a rough porous earthy feel. Although she is quite simple, I chose to make her out of wax and cast her using the lost wax method. I love the subtle softness that the wax forms which is difficult for me to achieve using gold wire. Sophie's not just a wedding band, she is lovely as a simple gold ring. Sophie's texture makes the gold have a little shimmer in the sunlight. The last photo was taken outside.
△ This listing is for one Sophie band. The photos with the three bands are all Sophies and the one with the two bands are Bean on top and Sophie on the bottom.

△ I will make Sophie for you in your size, please message me with any questions. Keep in mind that she is handmade and will be similar, but not exactly as the one in the photo. Your Sophie will be sent off in 3-5 weeks. If you need yours sooner I may have one as sometimes I cast a few extra, just message me.
A little about how your ring was made.

Lost wax casting. I begin by creating a wax model of your ring. I then make a mold of it with plaster. After it sets, I place your mold into my kiln for many hours during which the wax is melted out. Next I melt your gold and spin it into the mold using a centrifugal casting machine. It is then quenched in water, there is a mini explosion as the hot flask hits the water and your plaster mold is destroyed. Now for my favorite part, I dig to the bottom of the bucket to find your little gold sculpture. I'm so happy, your ring is ready to be cleaned, textured and finished. This may seem a bit extreme for a simple gold band, but I love the organic softness which is created by wax.
