A soft, elegant silk scarf hand-dyed using shibori techniques. It is a beautiful, floaty accessory which will add a lovely touch to any outfit.

I hand roll the edges using silk thread, then use a variety of shibori techniques to create resists before dyeing the silk using acid dyes. The acid dyes (named because vinegar is added to the dye-pot) provide rich, fairly colorfast colors.

In this scarf I have used shibori stitching techniques. This involves folding the silk in various ways and stitching designs in thick thread then pulling the stitches tight. This technique leaves little pin-pricks on the surface of the silk which form part of the design. You can see these in the close-up photo.

This scarf is approximately
57 inches/145cm long
7 inches/17.75cm wide

It will be sent in the gift folder like the one pictured

PLEASE NOTE: I have tried to get the colors right on this one but the teal should be slightly greener. Don't forget, your monitor may vary the exact color too.
