Vintage set of fourHomer Laughlin Fiestaware Cobalt Blue7" bowl. Cobalt blue Fiesta color. This piece is in good condition with no cracks, chips or crazing. It has some visible utensil marks. Piece is impressed with the vintage Fiestaware stamp. Fiesta ware has been produced since the 1930's.
+This bowl is one of the earlier versions with the fully glazed bottom and the "fiesta HLC USA" mark, which indicates that it was made prior to 1951.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with vintage items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects.

HISTORY & INFORMATION

Some pieces of Fiestaware are particularly valuable. The most sought after items were made during the original production run from 1936 to 1973, although this is not to say that items from the newer generation (1986 onwards) cannot be valuable.

Generally speaking, items in the original five colors of light green, fiesta red, cobalt blue, yellow, and ivory are very valuable.
Identify the color of your piece and check the bottom for any markings. The earliest pieces do not have any trademarks on the bottom. They will always be in the original colors. Turquoise was introduced in 1937. Red was discontinued during World War II and was not produced from 1943 to1959.
Look for a "fiesta HCL USA" logo stamped or molded into the bottom of the piece. The small "f" indicates that it is an early piece. The stamp "fiesta Made in USA" is also a vintage mark. Large "F" markings designate later production.
