A lovely vintage Double Wedding Ring quilt dating back to the 1930's to 1940's, and made with pretty pastel cotton fabric. The quilt has a scalloped edge and is hand quilted & has fine hand stitching. The fabric is what attracted me -- pretty baby blue, pink, yellow, green, and red colors. The fabrics includes floral, checks, stripes, and solids. Quite enchanting!

Size: about 77 " X 90 "

Condition: Very good vintage - the quilt is in need of a few repairs -- some squares need to be restitched, a few need replacing, & there are a few small spots on the front & back of the quilt. I have not laundered it. The price has been adjusted to reflect needed repairs.

The quilt is quite beautiful & a true work of art showing hours of painstaking work and love.

History: The Double Wedding Ring quilt is one of the most popular patterns since the begging of quilts. Possibly because it is whimsical & brings up for us thoughts of love, brides, and weddings. Knowledgeable quilters recall this pattern becoming popular in the 1920's and 1930's, around a time coinciding with the Great Depression, perhaps to give people hope of a better future. Today this pattern continues to be as popular now as it was in earlier times. Typically fashioned with pastel colors on white, the Double Wedding Ring reflects positive & cheerful feelings.
