1967 The Swiss Cookbook 1st Edition Near Mint Vintage Swiss
By Nika Standen Hazelton

"Swiss cooking, like the Swiss people, although drawing heavily on French, Italian and German influences, has a unique character of its own ~ dinstinctive combinations, special accents ... Nika Hazelton explains the basic elements of Swiss cooking as it is understood and practiced in Swiss homes and those genuinely Swiss restaurants unknown to the casual traveler.
"In addition to providing a completely authoritative guide to the Swiss cuisine, Mrs. Hazelton has provided a colorful, fascinating and highly personal "cook's tour" of Switzerland's cantons and regions, its lakes and mountains and trains, its markets and festivals, to show you what is most marvelous where. There is even a visit to a chocolate factory and a comprehensive guide to Swiss wine and cheeses.
"Altogether a "must" for the sophisticated cook, The Swiss Cookbook is also a treat for the adventurer who wants to know intimately the food, the people and the country behind the travel posters."

So begins the intro to this vintage cookbook. Compiled by Nika Standen Hazelton, & published in 1967, this cookbook is an asset to any kitchen. Here in 25 chapters are hundreds of traditional Swiss recipes covering from Appetizers and Salads to Desserts and Odds & Ends. The ingredients are fairly basic...not too many "use only once" purchases. From simple, classic meals to fine cuisine and everything in between. Read the entry on Fanz above (pic 5) ~ the Swiss are a hardy lot :)
