So begins the intro to this vintage cookbook. Compiled by Nika Standen Hazelton, & published in 1967, this cookbook is an asset to any kitchen. Here in 25 chapters are hundreds of traditional Swiss recipes covering from Appetizers and Salads to Desserts and Odds & Ends. The ingredients are fairly basic...not too many "use only once" purchases. From simple, classic meals to fine cuisine and everything in between. Read the entry on Fanz above (pic 5) ~ the Swiss are a hardy lot :)

The Swiss Cookbook is clear & well thought out & a treat to read with its unique entries & recipes :)

This 5.5" X 9.5" X 1.25" 357 page 1st edition is in excellent condition. The dust jacket shows virtually all the wear with some folded, torn edges at the top and bottom (pic 1).The actual bright red and cream cover is not worn & is in beautiful shape. No writing, stains, tears, or folds. No age toning. The inside & the outside are clean & bright. The spine is unbroken. All in all, a very nice edtion of & look into 1960s Swiss Cooking :)
