Brand NEW!!!
Introducing our new WALL BIRDS! We're excited!

These look great in a group or "flock" :o) i'll bet there are lots of little places in your home to put one or more of these delightful little guys.

There is a wire on the back to making displaying your wall bird quick and easy and secure.

Whimsy is good for you.

How about giving him a home? He makes a great, amusing little companion. He would also make a fun, unique gift. He is sure to make them smile :o)

If you want to give this as a gift, we will wrap it in brightly colored tissue paper and tie a ribbon around it. We are also happy to enclose a message from you.

He is about 5 inches from beak to tail and is a little over 3 inches tall.

We cut out the bird from a slab of clay.
After bisque firing , we draw the design on the clay with wax. Then glazes are hand applied and the bird is raku fired. We make all of our own glazes.

We place the bird in a specially built raku kiln and heat it until the glaze has melted. Still glowing with intense heat, we remove it from the kiln. This thermal shock causes the glaze to crackle.

Next the bird is placed into a container of sawdust. The sawdust ignites and produces a smoky atmosphere where carbon is absorbed into the unglazed clay and the crackled glaze.

Each piece has its own distinct crackle pattern and is unique in the way the carbon darkens the clay.

We personally design, handform, glaze and fire each one. We do not slip cast or use molds.
