Blaack paint on the big (8"x12"x3") sound box is topped off with a hand-rubbed wax finish. Both the straight(ish)-grain Fir neck and the Mahogany fretboard were reclaimed from old doors. We used a 25" scale length like the National resonators. The neck is firmly fixed in a bed of epoxy and fastened with screws to an internal brace. It is also supported with a steel bracket through the box. Both the box and neck are sealed with several coats of matte finish lacquer. A magnetic pickup located directly under the hand-spun 7" aluminum resonator cone brings her to life. Dual chrome soundholes, hand-carved bone nut, knurled chrome volume knob, standard 1/4" jack, an adjustable custom bridge and Ernie Ball strings. The chrome tailpiece allows for easy string changes. She sounds as cool as she looks.

While we've received much positive feedback from customers who love the CBG's we've made for them we think it's important for potential buyers to understand a few things about them up front. These are primitive, hand-made American folk instruments and shouldn't be confused with factory made instruments. Many hours go into each one with an emphasis on the use of hand tools and design. The finishes used are somewhat rustic and small natural defects in the wood (as well as a few "maker's marks") may be evident. Our objective has always been to create unique guitars, one at a time, that play well, look cool and are a joy to handle. CBG's are probably not the finest guitars you'll ever play, but they might be the funnest. Plug her in, tune her up and get your friggin' Mojo on!
