This Boulder Opal with Bright flashes of blue and green was cut by James several years ago. The Boulder opal comes from Queensland Australia, where opal has formed in the cracks and veins and crevices of ironstone. Since much of the layers of opal are too thin or too small to be cut out as solid opals, they are cut with the host stone, usually ironstone or sandstone, in sort of a natural occurring “doublet”. I have seen some gorgeous and bright opal this way. The ironstone itself can be quite pretty with some great patterns running through it.

This particular Opal flashes quite bright flecks of green and blue scattered within the ironstone!
Its a nice size stone...and a good size ring
The stone is 18mm x 13mm
With the bezel and twist, the top of the ring measures approx. 7/8” long, and 5/8” wide.
The bezel of the ring is .999 fine silver, while the rest is sterling
Opal is very difficult to photograph, we do our best so you can view color from all angles.

Since there is only ONE of these, and it is not sizeable, we didn’t want to limit the buyer by making the ring a certain size, so we made it adjustable!

This ring should accommodate many size fingers, size 4 thru 10
Having an adjustable ring size is perfect for many reasons:
*It makes gift buying much easier!
*It enables one to wear the ring on different fingers!
*It allows for swelling and water retention!
*It works great for those with larger knuckles, and arthritis

If you would like for me to adjust this ring to a particular size for you before I ship it, let me know what size you would like me to bend it to. Right now its about a 6

Get your little piece of the rainbow, “The Queen of Gems” while they are available. When they are gone, they are gone. I don't see much opal coming out of Australia these days, of any kind.
