Branching out for s/s 2012 - I've created this small collection of hair accessories, which are constructed from precious and semiprecious materials and subsequently, are almost like jewelry for the hair. Each piece is an hand-wired sculpture inspired by an exotic flowering plant. These little orchids are built upon the brass base using a combination of pink, white, taupe and green keishi pearls and yellow coral. The repurposed vintage-stock combs are very versatile for styling - perfect for short or long hair as they are a dainty two inches long by one inch wide each. These particular combs have the unique feature of clipping at the top. There is a hinge mechanism so that the flower can be lifted and then closed down upon the hair to better hold these in place. I have tried to shoe this in the forth photo down. I think these would be gorgeous for nearly all summery special events and occasions, from weddings to vacations. The nacre covering almost every inch of these pearls catches the light and imparts a kind-of soft, shimmering sumptuousness that looks equally engaging when paired with a silk cocktail dress or a cotton tee.
