Rare Natural Wood Wand *English Elm* for Love Magic!

This is a lovely wand made from the wood of an Elm tree. Sadly, due to the dreaded Dutch Elm Disease, these majestic trees are no longer a common feature of our countryside, but as they constantly send up suckers from their extensive speading root system, there are always several small trees growing in my hedge. They only get to be twelve or fifteen feet tall as they only live about twenty years before they succumb to the disease, so most years we have to remove one or two dead or dying ones. We use the wood for firewood and my crafting, depending on the size and just how "beetled" it is. This wand is rare for another reason too, the fact that I managed to preserve the bark. Usually, when an Elm tree is dying the bark loosens naturally & falls off in large flakes, but this branch must have been relativelt healthy as the bark is still well attached. There's a slight curve and a row of evenly spaced knots along each side, which show perfectly the alternate arrangement of side shoots. The exposed wood at either end is fairly pale and silky smooth to the touch, forming an interesting contrast with the slightly wrinkly texture of the bark.

I think this wand has a cheerful and sunny air about it, friendly, sweet and just generally nice. It has a slightly hesitant feel, as if it would prefer to work with someone confident, and I think it would be best suited to a youngish woman.

Elm can be used in any magic to do with love, whether romantic or any other kind.

Size: Twelve and a half inches long and just over five eighths of an inch thick.
317mm x 16mm.

It will come with a list of the magical properties of the wood, a picture of the actual wand, care instructions and, for first time wand buyers, some consecration suggestions.

Please be aware that some countries do not allow the importation of any wooden items that still have the bark attached. It is up to you to ensure that an item is not in breach of the customs regulations of your country before you buy.

All my wands are, by their very nature, unique. They are grown, not made. They are all formed from twigs and branches lost naturally by the native trees in and around the perimeter of my totally organic garden. The wood is collected, identified, and sorted, then stored for several months to ensure it is properly seasoned. Then it is smoothed into the right size and shape for that particular twig. Finally, each wand is given at least two coats of organic vegetable-derived oil to protect and nourish the wood. This oil contains no chemicals or preservatives and is exactly as it comes from the press. I will not cut trees to get the wood, and if I’ve used prunings I’ll say so. I will not use power tools of any kind, and I certainly won’t use any artificial chemical substances such as stain, dye, paint, or glue. If you like, you can embellish your wand in whatever way you choose, with paint, carving, cords, ribbons and crystals, but I leave them as pure and natural as possible while still being beautiful, practical and non-splintery. All wands will be given another coat of oil before dispatch, wrapped in paper, padded with shredded paper and posted with their relevant literature in a stout tube or custom made box to ensure safe arrival. All the packaging material is reused, recycled and/or recyclable, so please dispose of it thoughtfully.
