Wooden spoon for stirring with tasting spoon carved onto the handle made from Tulip Tree wood. This one is 16 inches long with a 2 3/4 inch wide bowl for stirring and a 1 3/8 inch wide tasting spoon carved on the end of the handle. The Tulip Tree wood has creamy sapwood and green heartwood with black streaks. The green color will darken and change to a tawny brown after a few months of use. Tulip trees are native to the eastern U.S. and are one of the dominant trees in the forests of my home state of Virginia. They get really tall and make large flowers that look like tulips in the spring. I made the first one of these spoons with a tasting spoon on the handle 3 years ago and it quickly became very popular to the point that I was making little else for a while. Handy to have when you want to give your sweetheart a taste without getting their cooties in the food. I love mine and you will love this one. Finished with beeswax and mineral oil.

Care is easy, just wash in hot soapy water, towel dry, and apply some mineral oil or walnut oil every couple of weeks or you can buy some of our spoon oil finish which is Beeswax and mineral oil. A 4 oz. jar lasts for a long time and it will help to keep your spoon looking and feeling good for many years.
