This is a rustic farm seed plot sign with great appeal from one of the very first hybrid seed companies in the United States. It is made of old press board (like a composite wood). It does have some wear and a hole in the letter E (see pics) but that is just its badge of being out in the fields decades ago proudly claiming its marking duty of announcing the variety of corn in its plot! Rescued from an old farm outbuilding it is deserving of a new home that will appreciate it and listen to its story! This seed company was started in 1937 by the parents of one of Illinois First Ladies, Lura Lynn (Lowe) Ryan in Aroma Park, Illinois. Lura Lynn who passed away in 2011 was the wife of Gov. George Ryan who is currently serving a term in prison. Its a great piece to use in your farmhouse decor and add a touch of farming history to it!
