Our first offering of this fiber has been dyed random style using our Peacock colors of lime, emerald and turquoise.

This new fiber blend is an interesting combination of 40% Merino wool/ 40% Superwash Merino and 20% Tussah Silk. This fiber is wonderfully soft and one that you will love spinning. The mill's theory in creating this blend was that the dyes would strike each fiber a bit differently. I'll have to say that the result is just beautiful.

I tried a sample of the fiber before deciding to offer this in our shop. I loved the softness of the fiber. It took dyes beautifully and was most pleasant to spin. After knitting a swatch that produced a lovely and next-to-the-skin soft fabric, I machine washed the swatch on normal cycle with a load of bath towels. I wanted to see how much abuse it could take. The swatch did great! No shrinkage, no pilling. Good test. Next, I decided to throw it into the dryer. While the fabric stayed lovely, it did shrink a bit. So I would suggest that even though you could safely machine wash yarn made of this fiber, I would caution against machine drying.

I think you will really enjoy working with this blend and as always, we welcome custom requests in quantity and gradient style dyeing if you prefer.
