This very special DIY Kit will guide your through creating your own stunning espadrilles with your very own fabric designed through the fabulous process of clay resist and indigo dyeing. As a part of the limited edition Artist Series, A Happy Stitch is teaming up with Julie Sinden of The Love of Colour to offer an extra special espadrilles kit. This project has never been done before. Create wearable art for your feet while exploring this unique textile design process!

This project is so much fun and is a great weekend project with it's multi-step clay resist, indigo dyeing and sewing/stitching process. The instructions give you the option of creating your own design (as illustrated by the dots and stripes) or using a constellation stencil to follow. This project does require a sewing machine as well as ready access to a plastic bucket, sponge brush and a water source. For best results, set aside time across a few days.

You will receive
- Exclusive, detailed instructions with step by step instructions
- One pair of Espadrille shoe soles in your size
- Prepared to Dye White Hemp & Organic Cotton Fabric in White
- 1/3 yard Organic Cotton Fabric in Salmon for Lining Fabric
- Midweight Fusible Interfacing

Create something functional but so beautiful and unique. Clay Resist and Indigo kits will only be available until November 1st so be sure to grab your kit now. It makes a great holiday gift for your favorite crafty person!

Simply choose your shoe size and I will send you what you need for the rest. Please check the size chart for help determining the correct size (scroll through the photos to find it). It's best to measure your foot from heel to toe (stand on a ruler!) and compare those measurements to the size chart.

I do my very best to make my kits eco-friendly including organic fabric, a recycled box, fabric scraps for decorative components and minimizing use of plastic in an attempt to be as low-waste as possible. Even my business card is made out of old t-shirts!

Please note: This listing is for a kit. It's a great project for you or someone else to make espadrille shoes. It is not, however, the sale of a completed pair of shoes. :)

Great kit with everything I needed to make espadrilles with my own fabric. Everything was packaged together thoughtfully and I had a great time making the shoes

I love my custom shoes. I have been meaning to make some, but didn't know where to start. This kit gave me everything necessary to complete my vision. I found the pattern and booklet particularly helpful, and even added some elastic to the heel for a snug fit.

Great kit if you already have fabric or leather scraps. The instructions were very detailed and included helpful illustrations. The kit is very lovingly put together and fun to make! It would be nice if it included more pattern option for those wanting to make different styles. What a fun way to dip your toes into the waters of shoe making.
