Handmade hardwood spoon
Olive Wood
Sealed with Salad Bowl Finish (non-toxic varnish)

This spoon is from an olive tree cut in the sierra foothills of northern California. This spoon was made for every day cooking. It is the sort of spoon you reach for anytime you cook for years to come. It has a classic face and long slightly tapered handle. The spoon is sturdy. It will work great for serving or using it to cook, saute or even scape the mashed potatoes out of the bottom of the pot. It also has a typical curved out portion for tasting soups, and stews. The contoured handle is for better grip, but gives it a little elegance and style.

This Olive wood is beautiful hardwood. It has the typical irregularities that come with Olive wood. I put a salad bowl finish on it because it makes the Olive wood look better and hold up longer. The spoon will remain beautiful if you hand wash it, keep it out of the dishwasher and out of boiling water. It was sealed with Salad Bowl Finish, a non-toxic varnish that was designed to be used on wood products that come in contact with food. It makes cleaning and sanitizing easier, and helps the wood to look good longer. If the spoon does begin to show wear, the finish can be reapplied if needed.

I take great pride in my wood work. I enjoy making a variety of cutting boards, spoons and spatulas. I hope that you enjoy using it as much as I have enjoyed making it. Each spoon is signed by myself.
