THANK YOU for your interest in a brand new, handcrafted Baking Buddy!

I'm the stay at home mom of a little boy with Autism, and have found that sewing helps me slow down & breathe. My wee one likes to hang out in my sewing room with me, and loves to help me pull random fabrics out of our "box of pretties" when we start a new project. Each and every thing we make is a family endeavor, and we truly appreciate your generosity and support!

This adorable hot pad measures approximately 12" x 16". It's big enough to hold a full-sized muffin tin, but small enough tuck into a drawer when it's not in use. However, it's so bright & cheerful that you might just want to leave it out all the time! :)

The top is made with a fun assortment of bright, colorful, happy fabrics, and the back is constructed from a happy cupcake print (shown in the 4th photo).

I started making these oversized pot holders for my own personal use, after I accidentally disintegrated my last store-bought one. My little hot pad couldn't contain the bulk of a piping hot cookie sheet, and it melted the polyester thread all over the counter top. Yikes.

Since then, I've tried about a million different fabrics & threads & stuffing methods; and have finally found the ideal blend of heat resistance, functionality, and cuteness! Each Baking Buddy is made with FIVE layers of fabric and filling and 100% cotton fabric and thread. I quilt each one with 2 pieces of 100% cotton fabric (meltproof!), 2 layers of cotton batting, and a middle layer of a reflective, heat resistant lining. It is completely machine washable - just make sure you take it out of the washer right away, so the vibrant colors don't fade. I usually throw mine in with a load of bath towels, washed on the gentle cycle in cold water & laid flat to air dry or thrown in the dryer on low. It might come out a little crinkled, like a soft quilt, but will flatten out nicely when smooshed with a big, hot pan. As if you need an excuse to whip up a big batch of chocolate chip cookies! =)

Please note - these trivets are heat resistant, not heat proof. Although the metalized lining will keep your tables & counter tops safe, it is not for use in the microwave or oven.

Any baking accessories shown (muffin pan, cookie sheet, Dutch oven, etc) are for size/scale/visual purposes only and are not included.
