If only this box could talk, if it could tell us who looked in the mirror? Who powdered her, or his nose with the little powder puff? If it could talk it could tell it how it traveled?
My guess would be this was used to take on trips to primp and groom when grooming was an art and even after long days of travel you looked your best.
The case has a large cabbage rose design. It has some damage but still is in good shape for such an old box. Inside there are several french ivory or celluloid pieces including a wonderful hand mirror that fits into the lid, a soft hairbrush both in good condition. There are two powder jars, one with a little powder puff, most likely made with ostrich feathers, teasers, a comb, a tiny toothbrush, a boot hook and a file. It looks like one or two items are missing, but the ones that are here give you a great look into the past.
