You’ll look quite the successful Viking in this beautiful hand-made tunic. And you won’t believe the comfort of the construction and fabric! Inset sleeves and side gores give you the freedom of movement you want. And linen is another of those lost secrets of the old ones. The way linen wicks moisture away from your body keeps you cool and comfortable on even the hottest days. The other great feature of linen; it gets softer the more you wash it, just like your favorite jeans!

This tunic is one of a kind because of the Inkle Woven Celtic knot trim from 2HorseWeaving, another fine etsy shop. This tunic is the ultimate in historical SCA Viking garb. It's an XL, fitting up to a 48" chest, 44" waist. It's 43" long so that it hits a 6' person at mid-thigh.

The fabric is a medium weight 100% linen: wash cold, hang dry, iron on linen/cotton setting. The trim is a beautiful inkle woven Celtic knot in green & black.

The tunic has been the most common garment worn by both men and women throughout history. From the ancient Greeks through the Romans, and medieval times, tunics represented an easily made, highly comfortable, garment that could be worn by all sectors of society. Tunics were made in many different fabrics, colors, and levels of decoration depending on a person's position and wealth, and even the place they came from.

My pattern is based on the Viking tunic found at Birka (Sweden), dating from the 9th and 10th centuries.

This tunic is ready to ship today - email me with any questions, I'm always happy to help!

Cheers!

ps - the belt is not included with this tunic.
