Mason jars are fantastic - inexpensive, dishwasher-safe, and the glass is BPA free. They come in many shapes and sizes, and are great for portion control because the measurements are marked on the side. But have you tried carrying your lunch in one? They tip over and clink together. So the Jars to Go Bag is designed to carry 2 pint size canning jars, padded with fleece to keep them safe, and in sleeves to keep them upright. The sleeves fold out of the way if you want to carry something else, as shown in the fourth photo.

This one is made of a red floral cotton duck fabric. It is lined with unbleached cotton muslin. The bag measures 9" tall, and 12" wide when laid flat. It includes a small cloth napkin useful for wrapping your silverware, 13" square, of the unbleached muslin.

A word about unbleached cotton muslin used for the lining and napkin: I love it. It is soft and naturally colored. It has darker flecks, lighter and darker patches, and the occasional slub. Since one person's "character" is another person's "flaw" I just thought I would mention it. If the nature of this fabric would get on your nerves, just convo me and we will discuss fabric options that would be more pleasing to you!

Frequently asked questions about atinyforest

I know my zero-waste customers want to know! The #1 function of packaging is to get your item to you in good condition. Currently I am using kraft bubble mailers with some recycled content. (Researching a better option for when I use up my current stock - if you have wisdom on this, please contact me!) I also use tape on what I perceive as weak spots. I use heat-printed labels - I know they're evil, but they save ink (packaging) and trips to the post office (gas). I limit the "extra papers" to one business card and one tiny thank-you. I will leave those out if you ask.
