Out of my collection and not easy to find in original state. Character, TV, Movie cars is what Corgi did best beginning in the mid 1960's. By the mid 1980's Corgi and many of the diecast toy companies had significant mergers and changes due the changing times and nature of toy companies then. This 1980 model is one of interest, since really this harder then even some of the older diecast depending on the production. Numbers production was waning historical by the 80's especially for these speciality character cars, I suspect this 1980 T-Bird was limited compared to the prime days of 1960-70's.

Britian's Corgi Toys brought creative rivalry with other Diecast Toy Companies in it's prime from the mid 1950's through the late 70's. The initial innovation in 1956 most noted was Corgi Toys introduction of the enclosed plastic windshield, advertised as "The One with Windows". This propelled and lead to direct competition for more and more creative design and construction especially with rival Dinky Toys.
