50% off original price of $350, These are the only ones in cyberspace. A vintagechambre exclusive. There are damages but these are still beauties.

This lovely pair is in a soft paste porcelain and was probably made in Japan in the 80's, judging by all the very soft pastel shades of green, beige and pink in a very Rococo style. These have a satin finish not bisque They may be Japanese or Chinese peasants carrying water buckets that are porcelain too and are held by suede/leather strands. The photos don't do these justice and the strong sunlight cast too much shadow and was too harsh for the colors. There are some damages but not where you would expect. I can find nothing wrong with the buckets or the yokes or whatever they call them, but the woman has a broken and missing belt sash like the man still has and there is a chip on the knee, and when washed it revealed cracks and a hairline network that run around the knee and down the skirt or leg. Regarding the latter, it really isn't noticeable unless it's wet and regarding the missing/broken belt, with the scale and beauty of these, it really doesn't detract. The old man is in somewhat better shape, but his head was glued back on with a sort of a rubbery glue. You only notice it if looking.

Otherwise these are real beauties and hard to find at such a large scale of 20.5" tall and about a 13" width if going from the edge of each bucket. I really don't want to part with these (which explains the price), but how much can you keep. These would go great in a Chinoiserie themed roomed with their Rococo styling, esp a dining room or hall, or with colonial or French or Italian Provincial type settings. Certainly not for the steel and cement loft style.

I am guessing at the shipping because they may need to be shipped separately to prevent damage. If you are in Boston, you can check them out, pick them up and save on shipping. I could also work on the price if picking up because you will be saving me a lot of trouble trying to pack these up.

I don't do returns or exchanges but feel free to ask for more photos, since I can only put 5 up here. They will be packed with care and bubblewrap.
