Antique sterling silver swivel brooch pin set with Queen Victoria silver shilling coin dates to 1887, Queen’s Golden Jubilee year. The coin swivels to be worn either side to the front. The coin features Jubilee portrait of Queen Victoria on the obverse and a shield in a garter on the reverse. Its sterling silver (tested) frame is very nicely decorated with etched leaf design all around and fine beaded edge. C clasp closure and loop is intact for wearing it as a pendant. The brooch frame is unmarked but tests as sterling silver. The coin is also sterling silver - British silver coins prior to 1920 contained high purity 92.5% (sterling) silver. (Note: Stem pin is silver tone metal for better strength.)

Approx measurements:
The brooch measures 1-3/16” (3cm) in diameter
Weight – 11.6 grams (0.41 oz)

Condition:
Condition of the coin is very good which is unusual for vintage silver coin jewelry.
Stem pin is slightly bent but closes well.
Swivel mechanism is in good working condition.
Overall, the brooch is in excellent antique condition.
