1. 'Fourth Leaders from The Times - 1950 - A Selection from the past twelve months'.

Light leaders intended to amuse and enlighten.

Hardback, beige cloth boards, red box with gilt lettering on front cover and spine.
Inscription reads: J.C. Thomas, Jeremy, from the Boys, Christmas 1950.

Excellent condition: clean boards, slightly yellowed around edges with age, no foxing, strong spine.

2. 'The Bedside Guardian - A Selection by Ivor Brown from the Manchester Guardian 1951-52'.
Collins, St James' Place, London (1952).

Anthology of articles ranging from those covering major events (the death of a King, Elizabeth II's Coronation, the fall of the Labour Government, Churchill's return to power) to more sedate and thoughtful pieces (an account of the behaviour of pink-footed geese, the holiday habits of the people of Burnley, French strip cartoons).

Hardback, red cloth boards, gilt lettering to spine, slightly tatty but nicely aged dust-jacket in cream and teal blue. Inscription reads: Chord. Includes loose book advert leaflet with mid-century titles and graphics.

Excellent condition: strong spine, pages only very slightly yellowed, dust-jacket yellowed with age and bumped, book clean, no foxing.

3. 'The Daily Telegraph Miscellany', J.B. Firth.
Hutchinson & Co. (Publishers) Ltd., London and Melbourne (no date printed - WWII era).

Anthology of classic and modern prose and poetry extracts in response to the "universal desire to escape the thrall of war activities into a serener air" and the anathema of "the insolent challenge launched by Nazism and Fascism against [...] morality".

Hardback, blue cloth boards, worn gilt lettering to spine, good clean copy, no inscription.

Excellent condition: strong spine, pages only very slightly yellowed with age, good clean copy.
