Featured here is a mid century Relpo Santa planter made in Japan, that I used to create this festive hand decorated accent piece. I always begin by filling the planter with recycled packaging styrofoam, building up above the rim of the planter to create a platform for me to work. Around the rim of the platform I attached gold tinsel garland and holiday crinkle paper. In the center of the styrofoam planter I securely attached a red sisal bottle brush tree. Sisal is a natural plant material, and therefore there will be some gaps in the tree. I creatively use hydrangea petals to fill the gaps in the sisal. Decorating these trees is the most fun, and I especially love using vintage wooden ornaments and faux candies. A variety of acrylic gumball beads make the perfect ornament, as do the wooden silver snowflakes that are placed here and there. A loopy bow made the perfect tree topper. The results are a truly beautiful piece of Christmas Past. Please let me know if you want me to add glitter to the trim on Santa's hat, the fuzzy ball dangling from his hat, and trim of his coat. Not everybody likes glitter, so I leave that choice up to the buyer and will do this no extra cost.
