Antique French Country Green Transferware - Sarreguemines

Authentic French cottage chic for your home.

A beautiful piece of French transferware this prettily shaped gravy boat is decorated with a gorgeous motif of green flowers and leaves on a creamy white background.

You may know that French saucières have the 'boat' attached to the dish beneath.

Marked underneath with the pattern name which is 'Palmyre' and the company name 'U & Cie Sarreguemines' a very famous French pottery. I can't date the piece exactly as the company has been in operation for over 100 years and there are so many marks but it appears to be from the first part of the 1900s.

A small nibble under the rim of the base not visible from the top and a slight rubbing of the pattern here and there but, overall in good vintage condition with the pattern still looking fresh and bright.

This really has those french country looks which would go beautifully on a distressed looking dresser or chest of drawers or even in a bedroom or bathroom.

It measures 9 inches long x just over 4 inches high.

Thank you for looking.
