This handsome cottonwood stump doesn't have a bad angle. From warm browns to cool shades of grey this stump is completely versatile. The Hondo River Valley in New Mexico is known for its tree-lined river banks. A flood upended many of the trees and the corp of engineers required the fallen sentries be removed. The trees were being piled up for firewood or to be ground up. We intervened and purchased the wood.

These tree stumps are a functional organic reminder of where wood comes from! We kiln-dry, level, smooth and sand the sides leaving the individual character of each piece intact. After we polish the top, a few coats of matte wax sealer and small felt feet are added to help deter the effects of humidity changes.

Care to continue our rescue and adopt this beauty into your environs? We hope it's a perfect match. Thanks for your interest in our forest restoration work!
