Antique rare primitive 1800s French Farm County Bentwood Sifter, Strainer or Sieve. Found in a rural French estate in Montreal, Canada.
This sifter is very tight and is all hand made with a fine mesh wire base with early copper nails. The bentwood is so smooth to the touch and in wonderful condition. This is not like the rustic sieves at all.

These hand made bentwood sifters were used in the French county kitchens for many uses such as baking, grains, flours, cornmeal, straining vegetables etc. Great French country decor~
Size:
12" width x 4" deep

Excellent condition commensurate with age being a primitive piece no dents, splits, breaks, holes at all, very rare and highly collectable.
