RARE vintage shiny gold-filled metal star locket, circa 1930s, no chain. This incredible beauty features a lovely five-pointed star with an engraved floral design in the center and a sweet subtle repousse border. The locket opens best from the points at the bottom and reveals two tiny circular spots for photos inside. The top has a single photo frame and the bottom is empty and marked "GOLD FILLED 1/20 10K J. M.F. CO" of Attleboro, MA (1879 - 1949). The locket closes with a snap and the closure is secure, although a gap is left between the seams. I noticed the gap in the seams can widen a bit when handled, likely a consequence of the star design, and it does not affect the security or wearability of this delightful piece (see 2nd photo). Measures 1-1/4 inches (32mm) not including the top loop and attached jump ring. Slight surface scratches to the metal, light plate wear along the edges and backside border, and dark tarnish and discoloration on the inside. A rare one-of-a-kind locket to be treasured!
Insurance is included in the shipping cost for this item.
