Mid Century Modern Abstract Copper Tray By Yaad Israel - Paul Klee Era Modernist Etching

Depicting a Modernist rendition of a city street, this copper display tray is absolutely stunning. Composed of incredibly luscious copper, with a gorgeous natural tarnish, this piece displays an incredible artistry, both in its wonderful handling of the medium as well as the figure work itself. We're in love with the line work on this piece, and the way the lines of the tray frame the inner illustrative work. This piece was made by Yaad Designs, and is marked on the bottom "Yaad Made In Israel." Yaad was founded in the ’50s by Jerusalem artists Bezalel and Zahara Schatz, a brother and sister pair that fully embraced European modernism. The artistry of this piece is a testament to the one of a kind work Yaad produced. Needless to say, this piece is clearly the work of someone with a great handle on Modernist themes and forms, and this tray is one of the finest artifacts produced by the Schatz siblings. The tray still looks amazing, with a wonderful natural age to the piece. The silvered patina amid the copper looks stunning, and all of the wear of the piece is a testament to the hand made nature of the item. There are some inconsistencies to the finish, and some light scratching, though it only enhances the uniqueness of the piece. Measuring 19" by 6", this piece has the size and presence to anchor any Modernist decor. A fantastic example of the artistic reaches of Modern design, this display tray is sure to add an immediate shot of Mid Century elegance to any space it resides in!
