Beautiful pressed milk glass cake stand in soft blue, made circa 1900. Pretty sunburst pattern on the underside of the plate and foot. EAPG (early American pattern glass) cake stands such as this one were made in many patterns and colors. Now over 100 years old, they make a great way to display or wedding cake or other baked goods.

Measures 4 3/4 inches high, just under 11 inches diameter overall, should easily accommodate an 8 inch round cake. Unmarked.

Glass from this period is more than 100 years old and sometimes has tiny flaws such as bubbles, inclusions, fold lines and other irregularities in the glass--these are perfectly normal and expected issues that occurred in the making of the piece. You can also expect utensil marks on the top of the plate from use.

Overall condition is good, with no cracks or repairs. There are a few tiny dark inclusions in the glass and there is a chip to the inside lip on the underside of the foot--see detail images. The plate sits centered and level on the pedestal foot, but from some angles the support seems just slightly off vertical. Minor variations in the color of the glass.

** I love cake stands and always try to have a few in my shop--check back often! If you don't see what you want, please contact me and I will do my best to help you find just the right piece. **
