An elegant Victorian antique wash bowl and water pitcher set from England. I thought this might be white ironstone. The set is very heavy. The bottom is marked but I can‘t make everything out. I can make out Clements (or Clement Son), Hanley. The old mark indicates that this was pre-1883. I am guessing this is 1860s but I can‘t make out the letter code for the year. The design is graceful with embossed flowing leaves and lines on both pitcher and bowl.

The bowl is 13-¾“ across at the widest (rim edge to edge) and about 4-1/8“ high. The pitcher is about 12-½“ at the tallest.

Both pieces have various small specks or marks in the glaze. Both have some light general crazing. Two very small patches of crazing on the side of the bowl show as a light network of brown lines. This is minimal. The bowl has light scratches on the inner center. The pitcher has a spider hairline crack on the bottom underside which does not go through the pottery. The inner bottom of the pitcher has some yellow circles as if from use. Both pieces are without chips and display beautifully.

Please note! The U.S. postage quoted for this item is the least expensive slower Parcel Post Mail rate from me in NYS to those exotic places such as California or Hawaii. The closer you are to New York, the less that cost will be. For instance, it is only $18.00 for faster Priority Mail from me to Brooklyn (or $12.33 Parcel Post).

If you would like to purchase this item let me know - I can change the postage to reflect the right rate or I will refund the difference.

This will ship by Priority Mail International to Canada. Because of weight and size, there is no other International Shipping on this item (sorry!)

Always happy to combine shipping. Just let me know which items you want to combine and I will let you know the S&H cost. Please see our Profile and Shipping Policies for other info.
