I purchased this vintage dress to wear as my wedding dress in the hopes that i might loose enough weight to fit into it! alas this did not happen and so I am sadly parting with the dress in the hopes that someone else will be able to enjoy the dress for either their own wedding or another special occasion. It looks simply stunning on and gives that perfect vintage hour glass figure.

***Perfect dress for a seaside elopement / courthouse wedding or honeymoon outfit***

A beautiful wiggle dress with lace applique and sailor collar/sleeve detail at the back.

The dress is a vintage dress - date not known - but looks to be 1950's
It features a lovely piece of lace over a blush coloured inset panel. The back features a sailor style collar/sleeve panel (see pics) which have matching lace apliques. And there are four little buttons at the neckline.

To get these measurements I layed the dress flat and measured from left to right in the following spots - i hope this helps! you will need to double the numbers to get the full size?

BUST - 19 inch (48cm) underarm to underarm
WAIST - 14.5 inch (36.5cm) where the lace insert tapers on the sides
HIP - 19/19.5 inch point where the skirt widens out - maybe 10cm down from lace
LEANGTH - 41 inch - from top shoulder all the way down
leangth of dress from lace to bottom is 26inch

The dress is a good size 12 austrailan dress

I have added 3 new images - the first showing the label "carol craig - new york"
the second showing the mark described below (there is one on each shoulder)
and the last showing the folded button panel and the inside of the dress which is unlined and has a peachy/pink lining where the lace panel is.

Condition - the dress has been drycleaned and stored safely away. The fabric is in very good condition (especially for a white dress) there are no noticable marks or pulling on the main body of the dress - there are 2 small rust spots on the top of each shoulder near the seam which look to have been created by dress clips? or a pin/brooch being worn there - these are quite small as they look to be dots created by the enty of a pin that has tarnished a little. These never bothered me as the dress is vintage and you come to expect these little irregularities - you could always wear dress clips in the same place to resolve this?

The only other thing to mention is the buttons at the top front - I found the neckline to be a little high for my taste and so i carefully unstitched the the acutal panel the buttons are sewn on down the sides a little to allow the top button and fabric to be folded down to lower the neckline slightly. This can eaisily be stitched back into place or permanently altered to allow for the lower neckline. I did not want to cause any irriversable damage to the dress at the time so only folded it down and never cut the excess fabric off.

Please contact me with any questions, i will update the listing with acurate measurements at a later date or when someone convo's with questions. The dress would best fit a size 10-12 australian dress size - but as it is vintage it depends on body shape - may fit a small 14?.
