Fabulous early 1900's Santo Domingo shell necklace with inlaid mother of pearl, onyx and turquoise inlaid on top and a necklace made of tortoise shell beads. Santo Domingo tribe is the only tribe known for this type of work. The red brown shell is a gorgeous combination with the brown tortoise shell beads.
Circa 1930s
Marks or signatures: none
Condition: Pendant - very good.
Necklace - good condition: I believe the necklace was, at some point, restrung on rat tail cord. The hook and handmade sterling beads appear to be original. A few of the tortoise shell beads have some chipping around the corner.
Measurements/size: 18 inches long and Pendant - 1 1/2 X 1 5/8 inches
