Woodsmoke and frosty mornings meet silk, linen, cotton, and hemp yarns in this scarf.
Handwoven with inlaid designs, this is a new scarf in my series of cross scarfs. The cross motif is an ancient symbol and a shape that appears even in ancient cave paintings. Pia Wallen, the Swedish modernist, and textile designer, made her classic series of cross blankets, which have influenced my work. I particularly like filling the cross form with the diagonal silk yarn goose-eye weave.

This scarf is a subtle, interesting piece to wear for any occasion, casual and modern, but
also natural, and simple. It has been handwashed, and dried in a cool tumble drier. As with
any handwoven linen piece, it will continue to soften with wear and washing.

76" X 11", not including 5" hand knotted fringes.
