Description

Full Circle Skirt made from a vintage BILL BLASS Tablecloth - ELEGANT & TRULY UNIQUE. The colors are gorgeous - small yellow and white daisies with little green stems on a blue lattice. Very sweet and very elegant and never been worn. The "B B" (2nd B reversed) stands for Bill Blass (see photo). I doubt another one exists anywhere.

This vintage Bill Blass tablecloth resourced into a gorgeous circle skirt has a lovely soft feel against the skin and natural flowing drape. Fabric is medium weight cotton/cotton blend with no side seems. Is opaque (non see-thru) and has an inside pocket, perfect for a credit card or a key.

This tablecloth skirt is in great condition, with no spots or stains. There is a tiny hole, which is hard to see (see photo).

The length is 30" with a 1 inch wide elastic waistband.

This skirt fits people who wear clothing sizes 0 - 10. Model is size 4.

Because this is a handmade, one-of-a-kind, specialty item, you get a custom fit. You tell me which size when you buy. I also encourage questions and do my best to answer within a day.

HOW TO FIGURE OUT YOUR SIZE:
First, decide if you want to get dressed by pulling your skirt up over your hips or down over your head. Second, take a measurement of your preferred way.

~For hips, measure the widest part of hips/buttock/thighs using a tape measure (in inches). (Or use a string and then measure the string.) This is your skirt size.

~For over the head, have a friend measure (in inches) around the largest part of your chest/bosom without a bra. (Skip this measurement if you have a small chest/bosom.) Then measure around your upper arms and chest/bosom. Which ever measurement is larger, this is your skirt size.

Now measure your waist where a skirt rests normally. This is your waist size. Tell me both your waist size and skirt size to ensure a proper fit. (Skirt size is always larger!)

FAQ:
Why no bra? The reason to measure without a bra is wearing a bra will make the measurement larger and thus your skirt size larger than it needs to be.

Why have a friend do it? For greatest accuracy. We tend to bend and measure incorrectly when doing it ourselves.

What if the ratio between my waist and the skirt size is too great? I make sure it will fit. If not, I will notify you immediately & refund your money 100%.

What if my waist size changes considerably after I have had the skirt a while? I build in 2 inches of ease for greatest comfort. If this stops being enough, you can replace the elastic yourself with a longer piece. It is easy to do. Same goes if skirt waist becomes to large. Simply open up seam, shorten elastic and sew seam shut.

ODDS & ENDS:
Owning a former tablecloth is both an exciting and responsible way to recycle materials. I began making these ‘TableWears’ first for myself. I find the expandable waist to be forgiving and very comfy and the selection of styles endless. People often exclaim "wow" when I say “its actually a tablecloth”. They are amazed and I am pleased to be repurposing an otherwise lost piece of history.

This tablecloth skirt is made to withstand daily life. I want you to be completely satisfied. I tell you the history of the tablecloth if known and design them to be machine washable with no special care needed. (Although it is your call to use the dryer or not. Line drying preserves the fabric while the heat and tumble action of the dryer wears it out faster.)

Enjoy your old new 'TableWears'!
