Vintage 1930s Wedding Dress
30s Wedding Gown
Candlelight Satin and Lace
This wedding gown was worn on June 6th, 1931 in Huntington Long Island (I have the newspaper engagement and wedding announcement)

Candlelight Lace over Sheer Ivory Chiffon - at the Upper Bodice with Satin Piping Trim at the Neckline and Arms
There is a Panel that Starts at the Bust and goes Past the Hips of Satin - To block the sheer part of the lace (no need to wear a slip!)
The Lace continues down past the waist and comes to several inset points arching across the body and past the hips.
There are four side snaps at the right side
The skirt part of the dress is has seven gores and is not lined
There is a matching satin belt with a rhinestone and white metal clasp. - the belt is adjustable and was found with a safety pin attached to it.
(We were a bit confused as to which way this dress was supposed to be worn - as the necklines are quite different - And although normally - the closure is worn at the left side of the bodice, we thought the v shaped neckline looked the nicest at the front. You could wear this dress either way - as there are no tags or indication as to which was it was intended to be worn)

Measurements (measured in inches)
Bust 38"
Waist 34"
Hips 44"
Length 55.5"
Shoulders 15"

This dress would best fit a size small/medium - please allow a few inches bigger than your normal dress measurements, as this dress is not supposed to be worn tight/fitted.
*model is 5'6" and her measurements are 32C/24"/36"*
This dress is clipped to fit the model for photos.

Size (if marked): -

Label: -
Material: Rayon Satin, Lace, Chiffon
Condition: Near Perfect! - This dress is 81yrs old and has been stored for many years - thankfully correctly! - There are ZERO rips or holes in this dress, not even in the lace. There are a few tiny spots on the satin - two speck sized spots on the front near the knee and another tiny one at the back of the skirt - they are very light brown in color and will either lighten or come out completely with a professional dry cleaning - they are hard to spot when wearing because of the folds/draping of the satin. There are several very minuscule scuffs on the satin, none of which are in the slightest bit distracting. Lastly, the lace and chiffon under the arms is a few shades darker but the spotting is not in a large area, its very small and light. Because the upper part of the dress is sheer, the yellowing is hardly seen when worn because the skin shows through and is the same shade of the yellowing. Again, a dry cleaner may be able to lighten these spots - I have not tried to soak/clean them. Price reflects flaws.
