This stoneware vase is by the acknowledged ceramist Einar Johansen for the Danish pottery Michael Andersen.
It´s covered with an incised pattern of small leaves all way round and shows a beautiful glazing with changing tones from top to bottom - ochre, light blue and cobal. The neck is unglazed and the upper rim and interior is dark green.
It´s a heavy quality and rare piece.

Einar Johansen is quite known for his work he made for the Søholm pottery, which like Michael Andersen also was situated on the island of Bornholm. But he did work for other potteries as well and also in his own studio.

I couldn´t find out from which year this vase is, but I guess from the 60s or maybe 50s.

very good used condition.
No chips, cracks or repairs.
Marked under the bottom with the Michael Andersen sign, a shield with three fishes, and an EJ for Einar Johansen. I don´t know what the triangular means. Does anybody?
