A wonderfully sized and visually compelling vintage teak starburst / sunburst clock from the 1960s -- the quintessential statement piece from the mid-century modern era that's perfect for 21st century decor. Beautiful

This one, bearing the "Seth Thomas" label on the dial, has a great vintage feel and an unusual design that includes 12 teak rays overlaid on 12 brass-tone metal rays - very dimensional and unique. The rays encircle the gleaming brass-tone and black Seth Thomas dial that was factory-printed with a starburst center and sports two-toned brass hour and minute hands.

The clock measures an attractive 25 inches in overall diameter, with a three-layered dimensional effect (wood over metal rays topped with the round brass-tone dial and hands.)

The clock has been refurbished for a renewed life; its exhausted movement has been replaced with a brand-new, silent, battery-operated quartz movement that runs on one "AA" battery. The battery is easy to insert from the reverse, and requires changing once every 10 months or so. A new battery is included so you won't have to run out and buy one to get your clock going!

In vintage condition, showing an honorable handful of freckles and toning sprinkled on the metal parts, particularly on the brass-tone rays, with a few small spots on the dial too. Please look at all the photos which are an important resource for this listing. The clock's condition is consistent with objects that have been reasonably cared for during the fifty or so years they've been on this planet, but it may not suit someone looking for a vintage starburst clock that has avoided most of the marks of passing time. The price on this clock has been set to reflect condition. If you are seeking a "more perfect" mid-century wall clock, please check back for others from my collection that don't have quite as many freckles and age spots -- I offer them frequently, though admittedly they are more costly. The photographs in this listing accurately represent how this clock appears under studio lighting conditions (which are *much* brighter than most rooms at home) --the photos were taken using two 250 watt lamps (that's bright!) from distances of 24 to 60 inches - much closer than you will likely ever be to this clock once it's installed on the wall in your home or office.

When your clock arrives, it will be in its very-own custom-designed packaging in a large brown carton. Open carefully, unpack your beauty, and then, just pop in the new battery (easily done!)

Then, set the time to the 1960s, hang it on your wall, and sit back to admire your own exceptionally good taste. :)
