This is a fantastic art deco sculpture of three “pixies”, reading a book and whispering to one another. In the center is a large crystal ball which rests on a round flat holder. This piece was designed by Gerda Iro Gerdago, an Austrian artist born in 1906 in Vienna. Gerdago originally made his living as a theatrical costume designer and eventually became a bronze sculptor. His iconic design was his "pixies" ... and he did numerous versions of them ... all of them having classic Art Deco looks. While most his work was produced by JB Hirsch, some was also apparently produced by the American company Frankart. These companies reproduced Gerdago's work for the mass market in the 1930s ... creating them in spelter, rather than the original bronze.

Dimensions: It is 8” x 10” x 11” high with the ball and 7” high with the ball

Condition: This is in very good condition with an age appropriate patina with no damage. Note that felt has been placed on the bottom, apparently to prevent the piece from scratching any surface it rests on.

FREE SHIPPING: We are offering Free shipping on these to anywhere in the continental U.S. Please email us for rates elsewhere (we do ship worldwide but please inquire for shipping rates outside the Continental US).
