My Canadian roots are showing with this yarn! It's reminiscent of the red flannel plaid shirts that loggers wear in British Columbia, where I'm originally from. Loggers are the people who cut down trees for lumber, better known by their American nickname, lumberjacks. This yarn is also thick and soft, made from the world's favorite fleece - merino - blended with bluefaced Leicester fleece - the cream of the crop of British sheep - and then plied with natural unbleached flax to give it a rustic look. (Flax is better known as linen.) Altogether, it makes me think of a lumberjack working in the winter, covered with a dusting of snow.

This baby soft skein would make a wonderfully warm, vintage-looking winter cap or snuggly, chunky mittens. It's a great match for faded denim. Or it has a definite rustic Christmas vibe going on too! The last photo shows a sample swatch of it knitted up in stocking stitch using 6mm needles.

When I spun this yarn, I split it into two skeins so if you purchase both, they will match perfectly.

100 grams (3.5 ounces) two ply, approximately 49 yards long, spun in a pet and smoke free environment. Yarn Weight = 5 wraps per inch (Bulky).
