This little bird will brighten your day.

Although this hand-thrown, stoneware, lidded jar is decorative, it can also be very useful. It is a hand-crafted, pottery jar made with food safe glazes. So you can use it in the kitchen with foods, in the bathroom with grooming products, or to store any other items you can imagine.

This jar would also make an ideal gift. Fill it with homemade goodies, or small gifts. No gift wrap required. When the goodies inside are used or eaten, the lucky recipient has this wonderful keepsake jar to use for years.

This jar and lid were thrown on a pottery wheel, the bird knob was sculpted and attached to the lid. It was bisque fired, then later glazed using food safe glazes, and fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln.

5" wide x 7 1/2" tall

Shipping price is estimated for USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground Service. Talk to me if you have other preferences for shipping or if you are located outside of the US. Once you let me know where to send it, I'll find out how much it will cost.

Frequently asked questions about muddywaterscc

I don't mind making custom items but, I want customers to be aware of time frames needed to make custom items, so they are not frustrated by how long it takes. It generally takes around 6-8 weeks from when I begin an item until it is finished. There are many steps and processes that go into making a piece of pottery.
Making the item takes a few days, between throwing on the wheel or hand building, to trimming, to assembly, to drying times.
Making enough items to fill the kiln takes at least four weeks.
Each item is glazed. The glaze for most of my work is brushed on, at least three coats. This takes several weeks.
Finally, the glaze kiln load is run to make the finish permanent.
Hand wash with warm soapy water for best results.
Items that are meant to be used every day, like coffee mugs, can be washed in the dishwasher as long as there is adequate space around them so they are not banging against other items in the dishwasher.
Raku items should be hand washed only. They should not be left outside or near windows where they will be exposed to the sun, as sun exposure may change their coloring or finish.
Pottery is breakable, so treat it gently and do not drop it, or it is likely to break.
My highest priority is ensuring that your item arrives safely. I wrap all items in bubble wrap, and place them in shipping peanuts.
If you would like an item wrapped in tissue paper over the bubble wrap, I am happy to do this if you ask me.
I'm also happy to add a personalized note from you if it is a gift. Just send me a convo letting me know what you want to say.
Please contact me. If we cannot resolve the problem, return the item for a full refund. Please ship back in the original packaging, or equivalent, to ensure safe return.
