Brazilian organist, Walter Wanderley, who was one of the world's premier jazz and pop keyboard players, first came to the notice of Americans through his collaborations with Astrud Gilberto. In the early sixties Wanderley had a big hit with the tune, "Summer Samba", which was then covered by a number of pop singers, including Johnny Mathis, Vicki Carr and Connie Francis ... and, of course, by Astrud gilberto.

This album, "Batucada" has twelve marvelously genial bossa-nova tunes, including two vocals : 'Wave', sung by Tayla Ferro; and ' She's a Carioca', sung by Claudio Miranda and Tayla Ferro. Both songs were written by Antonio Carlos Jobim. It is a fine record.

CONDITION:

Disc - There are some surface marks and light scratches that have no depth and do not seem to affect the music - the disc plays brightly with but a low amount of back ground noise - a few tics, etc - but the music rules

Jacket - A split to the top of the sleeve section of the cover - - the record came from a gigantic record collection and has two catalog labels - front and rear, as well as original purchase information penned in light green ink on the interior spread of the cover - on the inside spread of the cover there is scattered discoloration or spotting (what in the book world is called foxing - this appears on the rear catalog label also) - - a record ring is visible ... else clean and presentable

Liner - new clean paper liner
