Christmas Angel made from Iridised Cobalt Blue Glass and Silver Foil.

This silver foiled angel has a clear iridised glass head with a cobalt blue iridised glass dress and curly wire wings. The wings and hanging loop are made of solder coated copper and the finish is silver tone.

All the angels measure approximately 5.5 cm x 4.5 cm or 2 1/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches and come with a metallic thread for hanging.

Iridescence is a coating that produces an oily film to the glass, when light shines on the front of the glass the iridescence reflects many different colours giving a lovely rich effect. When light shines from behind the glass the real glass colour shows through.

I have tried to show the Angels true colours and the iridised effect too. The glass I have used is called Antique Glass and has bubbles and flaws which are part of its character and not faults in the making of these ornaments.

As the angels are handmade the one you buy may not be exactly the same as the photo shown, but the colours are the same.

These tiny angels look lovely as little Christmas tree decorations and of course they look good all year, especially in spring and autumn when the sun is lower in the sky.

The angels are sent in a bubble wrap pouch for protection.

The solder used in these ornaments is lead and tin and so should not be given to small children as a toy.
